Video in Vancouver is a socially conscious company that allocates 2% of our gross budget to viable projects. We choose projects that are made by talented and focused filmmakers. These filmmakers may be striving to secure funding or working to gain exposure. These projects must be completely independent of larger studio funding and must be of a “high morale” or something that's socially conscious.
Our goal is to provide services and allocate funding in a helpful way, giving projects a boost forward.
Our current project (completed primary filming)
Through Human Eyes is a one hour documentary that explores the intimate subtleties of humanitarian work in Haiti. Examining the link between two small communities, one from the province of British Columbia and one from western Haiti, we join director Chelsea McCormack in experiencing the poorest country in the western hemisphere from the ground level. She endeavors to portray the realities of this developing nation through the eyes of new and seasoned volunteers. Haitian leaders and the local populace. On the home front, Chelsea attempts to capture the perspectives of our own government as well as those of strong hold Canadian organizations fighting for the cause from Canada. Through Human Eyes is a story interwoven with human commitment, sacrifice and balance.
