Currently I have two programmers working on a concept for Video in Vancouver’s production process. Maybe it’s an idea that would work for you, too.

This software is being designed to help our business communicate with clients. Because we use freelancers, this program will allow multi levels of communication to promote the smooth progress of a project to completion. This specially designed online software will allow immediate sharing of contracts, treatments, schedules, and other necessary administrative tasks which must be carefully and closely coordinated. Changes to scheduling, for example, can be communicated immediately via one shared document.

This system is completely internet based so users can connect from anywhere, clients can see daily updates on progress and view documents and videos located on the server.

The designers who create programs to meet specific needs are called CTO’s, or Chief Technology Officers. Perhaps you can use their services. For example, instead of processing payments by hand, your website can display several payment options. Invoices can be automatically generated, and recurring payments set up. Check out http://basecamphq.com/ to see what’s possible from an online system.

If you would like to discuss CTO assessments, we will provide a free consultation.

Keep on the straight and narrow,

New study confirms: Video content rules!

film reelsQuickly, what is a way to bring targeted viewers to your site and keep them there? Well, videos have been shown to be the most effective media format.

Videos outperform all other types of ads by an overwhelming margin. People who see the video in this rich media are more likely to make the purchase. Consumers said they favoured a brand that had an informational and informative video as opposed to all other ad formats including flash. They go on to suggest that to save money on a campaign, follow it up with less expensive media like Flash, which will still retain positive feelings.

Video works, and it has the most impact when supported by site design and the right media branding.

Producing a video: the most effective ad format

Filed under: News — Colter Ripley @ 10:45 pm

search enginesHello! Today I am going to talk about search engine ratings, and how you can improve traffic to your site.

We just completed a customer’s project in which their request was to bring them to the top of the search engine rankings. We achieved this fairly quickly through a process I will describe below.

Internet Marketing as we know it today is unique to the last five years when people started to reverse engineer search engines. High ranking sites were tested to determine the reason for their top search performance or SERP. Duplication of the sites achieving high rankings meant successful duplication of the results.

Optimizing your website and using some tactics is an effective way to attract search users, 60% of whom are using search engines before Yellow Pages to find that they are looking for. An even higher percentage of searchers will be drawn to sites with videos rather than plain text.

Internet Marketing means getting traffic to a site.. There are about 20 main ways of doing this, including (stay with me) quality keywords and proper saturation of keywords, keywords in the right places like metatage, H1 tags and throughout your site, new content regularly on your site, giving value or giving something away for free, helpful and interesting content, links to your site, getting listed in directories, social media participation (Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, Digg etc), press releases and having something newsworthy and finally… advertisements targeting specific users.

Whew!

Kinda complicated, but these are all wonderful things to educate yourself on. We have a remarkably talented freelance internet marketer on our roster of available professions who manages dozens of sites in such a way that accounts for over a million unique hits per month.

Obviously traffic isn’t everything. Your ROI, aka Return on Investment measures whether or not the traffic you’re getting is converting people. When these people come to your site, an assessment takes place in 3 seconds, and knowledgeable marketers know how to maximize the appeal of a site within the framework of that brief initial assessment.

Think about it, it’s the new way to gain exposure!

Warmly,

Colter

The idea for this business came to me when I was on the bike at the gym. I was working hard on the bike and looking out through the window where there was a labour agency called Labour Unlimited located. How this place works is at 6 in the morning the doors open to day labor workers on a first come first served basis. Labor Unlimited organizes, schedules and markets the business to provide good quality workers to people who need them.

I was just sitting there, spinning the bike thinking about how the business system worked and I realized this business model is not uncommon in many markets. One company knows the right professionals to ask and the clients are able to enjoy the ease of use.

We were doing this already in a company I worked in partnership with called Monument Pictures. We would regularly take on clients who needed a new web site, corporate branding and maybe a corporate video. There were times when we didn’t know how to do the project but after contacting the right people, finding the right freelancers and ironing out the details of the project, we were able to complete it.

I realized this idea didn’t exist in the video production world. Someone who wanted a video done, could make postings on local job sites for each aspect of the production, sift through the applications and select someone appropriate who not only can get the job done on time and on schedule but that can also combine forces with the other employees effectively. This idea is just too hit and miss though.

There is no one giving a

dvice, and no real guarantees that things would be done on time, if at all. Clients would often get frustrated and dissatisfied with the results by being their own “general contractor” in a field where they may not have the necessary expertise to make the most effective and cost beneficial decisions. (I’ve been there).

I started VIN to make the design and implementation of media projects smooth, professional and cost effective.

I wanted each customer to feel the confines of a smooth production process. These ideas with a later implementation of Internet Marketing allowed us to have more clients then we knew what to do with at first, pushing us to step up the organization and increase the database of professionals.

This is the first of what I hope will be many blog entries for our clients and for those of you who are thinking about getting a media project done, such as a video for your website, an advertisement, or high level marketing of some sort. We want to demystify the process, and pave the way for you to enter this exciting and rewarding world of media projects.

Warmly,

Colter Ripley
